Founded in 1875 by artists, for artists, the Art Students League of New York provides affordable studio-based art education of the highest quality to anyone with the interest in making art. Great artists have trained, taught and exhibited at the League and enriched the League and the wider community.

Apprenticeships, classes, lectures, workshops, exhibitions and residencies uphold the League’s mission to support “artists and students who intend to make art a profession” and to cultivate a spirit of fraternity among art students.

Classes for all ages impart skills in drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking. One can start a class at any time during the year. The average cost of a full-time, five day-a-week class (18.75 hours per week) is$200. Part-time evening classes (two nights a week) are $100 to $115 a month.
